We love Pumpkins!

Pumpkin Party

On the Monday before Halloween, I took the kids to the pumpkin patch to get pumpkins. Doug was working so he couldn't go with us and we really missed him but the kids had a great time, even Jonathan. He rode around in a wagon with the pumpkins the whole time. He sat up in there and didn't fall over even one time! Yay! He liked his pumpkin and would just sit there and pat it! David picked one pretty quickly and stayed by my side the whole time. Nathan, however, took us all over the entire place and I think he looked at every pumpkin they had before he finally found one! Once they found pumpkins, David and Nathan went through the kids hay bale maze and played in the corn kernal "sand" box.

After the pumpkin patch, we went straight to Meagan and Nathan's house for pizza and pumpkin carving! We had a blast! David and Nathan were not all that excited about touching the pumpkin goop and David ended up convincing Grandma to do all the dirty work for him, including the carving but Nathan eventually got into it. He even helped with some of the carving!

Grandpa entertained Jonathan while the rest of us carved pumpkins. They all turned out really great with only a few minor mishaps! We all had a great time and survived the storm that came through in the middle of our little party. Luckily we moved our pumpkins inside to finish just before the rain hit!
